Using convert-x-to-dvd?

here's the question. i have convert-x-to-dvd. i also have 16 separate .avi files. what i want to do is have separate title listings for them, but have them play consecutively. when i set it up like that, the main menu fades and stalls for about 5-10 seconds before kicking in, and then between the titels does the same thing. how can i get it to play without interruption? alos i can't seem to get rid of the main title from a previous burn, even though i change it in the dvd menu and chapter menu. thank you.
