When watching Netflix instant movies/shows, it always pauses.....?

Whenever I'm watching Netflix Instant Streaming videos or TV shows, it will stop pretty frequently and say "Your internet connection has slowed. We are adjusting playback to avoid further interruptions" or something like that and then it takes at least a 1-4 minutes to start up again...it's sooooo annoying, is there anything I can do about it? I honestly am not that worried about quality, I just want to be able to watch something with out it stopping all the time, so I would be willing to trade to a lower resolution if it meant not pausing all the time...is there a way to do that? Thanks!
