What are your reflections on the incessant calling f/ the young offspring to the parents?

Well, it is probably a reflection of what is happening in the home. The child is allowed to interrupt without being told that they must wait. Children must learn patience and manners at a young age, otherwise it will just get worse as they get older. I know that is a difficult situation to be in because you want to continue doing your job, but at the same time, the child is probably getting more of the parent's attention. I'd be tempted to tell the parent that you'll be glad to come back once they have assisted their child (and have your full attention).
