Question about the 1st season Dexter episode, "Shrink Wrap"?

How come the shrink was the only killer Dexter didn't allow to speak just before his death? Every other killer got a chance to beg, etc. Could the answer be as simple as the writers wanted to allow Dex to make his speech without interruption? Or is there some deeper meaning here? I know, I"m probably reading more into this than is there!
