Disney's World of Color Show @ California Adventure?

So I am thinking about purchasing the picnic reserved seating at the world of color show that comes with dinner. I have never seen the show and I am going Thursday May 19th for my daughters third birthday. Has anyone that has went think it is worth it or is there enough room to where my daughter and I should be able to watch the show without any major interruption? or should I buy the picnic to be on the safe side?
