Why is my ex texting me? I dont play games need help!?

He broke up with me almost a year ago and he never really left my life. We wanted different things. We have the same friends and his family and I are very close. So we sometimes run into each other. When we 1st broke up he use to call everyday. He then started calling once a week. He would sometimes send me recordings of him singing love songs to me. I was so confused I didn't understand if he did not want me then why contact me. When I asked him y he was doing these things he would say I know it would not work with us and he would want us 2 still hook up. I told him that there is no way that would happen at all. He made it clear we could not be friends and we can not be together. I made it clear we would not be having sex period. I don't communicate with him at all but he still texts me at least once a month like clock work. It is usually to have small conversations, joke, r he will just send me silly pics of himself. I'm a direct person & I don't play games it is what it is with me. If we have agreed that there is no reason 4 us to talk then why is he still communicating with me? He makes it his business to make sure I know what's going on with him and anytime his vulnerable side (that he still has feelings 4 me) is about 2 be exposed he flips the script and act as though he feels nothing. he tells me vaguely that he has feelings 4 me. He even has a girlfriend now and he still contacts me, what is up with that? I won't lie I still have feeling 4 him but since we have established what it is with us I want to move fwd & on with my life, but his constant interruptions are delaying my progress. Need help asap.
